This is the first collection of non-corpse photographs by Kiyotaka Tsurisaki, a photographer who has been honestly confronting life and death.

I am a photographer of human corpses. They are the only subjects I want to photograph - this is my personal dogma.
However, it would be a lie to say that I have not taken pictures of anything else over these last three dacades. My situation has required me to engage in other photography to financially support my passion of corpse photography - in short, I have engaged in photojournalism, or at least a good imitation thereof.
While traveling the world, my goal remains the photography corpses. Yet I have also captured in photographs people's varied facial expressions, their emotions and feelings, and even the smiling children.
This is the backstage of death scenes as my main battlefield, and comprises a full half of my endeavors. In my career, both sides of that coin must exist, just as life and death are inevitably intertwined.
This collection serves as an anthology that complements my previous THE DEAD collection, a compilation of photos that do not feature human corpses as their subjects. Its photographs are what complete my own personal world and craft.
